Saoirse / freedom - Worldwide Irish Diaspora Outreach
Christianity first came to the shores of Ireland in the fifth century through the Apostle to the Irish - Saint Patrick. Patrick was a Roman Briton, who was kidnapped from England by Irish Slave Traders. After escaping some years later, he was called back to Ireland in a dream where the Irish begged him to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ with him.
He was largely responsible for the pagan Irish converting to Christianity and this ushered in Ireland's Golden age when Ireland was known as the 'Isle of Saints and Scholars'. During the following 300 years the Irish saved Civilisation by protecting the written word of God (Such as the book of Kells ) and sending missionaries all over the known world which was then in the era of the 'dark ages'.
Today St. Patrick is remembered in Ireland on March the 17th which is the Country's national holiday. Two surviving manuscripts are with us today of Patrick's original writings. His confession, which is an explanation of his life's work / beliefs, and his epistle which is a letter of appeal to a Scottish Slave Trader with Irish Slaves. So by God's Grace, and with humble hearts, the ministry of Saoirse is continuing what Patrick started all those years ago : A ministry to the forgotten Irish Descendants all over the World.
